Abstract
Abstract: The characterization of an elastic tube can be done on the basis of its reduced cut-off frequencies of circumferential waves scattered around the tube and of its transversal sound velocity. The Wigner-Ville time-frequency representation, that takes into account both the time parameter and the frequency parameter of a signal, is used in this work to access to the sought parameters. In this article, the Wigner-Ville method is applied to acoustic signals scattered by a thin aluminium tube. The transversal velocity, estimated by the Wigner-Ville image, is in good agreement with thetransversal sound in velocity aluminium given in the scientific litterature.
